Palm Oil
Project overview
A leading palm oil manufacturer in Thailand aimed to reduce fine particulate emissions and meet stringent environmental standards.
Thermax implemented a high-efficiency boiler integrated with an advanced electrostatic precipitator to effectively capture and control dust emissions. The solution significantly reduced air pollution, ensured compliance, and improved overall process efficiency.
Challenges
- A leading palm oil manufacturer in Thailand needed to reduce particulate emissions and comply with strict environmental standards. The company aimed to minimise its particulate emissions, particularly fine dust particles (PM 2.5 and smaller), which are known to pose severe health and environmental risks.
Solution
- Thermax stepped in with a tailored energy and environment solution, installing a high-efficiency steam boiler along with an advanced electrostatic precipitator (ESP) system. This ESP was specifically engineered to capture and control particulate matter, ensuring compliance with local emission standards. Capable of removing up to 99% of fine particles, the ESP technology is designed to bring down chimney dust emissions to an impressive 80 ppm (parts per million)
Result
- The solution enabled the customer to significantly reduce air pollution and meet emission norms while improving process efficiency.
