Strengthening india’s solar manufacturing with indigenous air pollution control solutions
Select an option
Project overview
India’s largest single-location solar PV cell and module manufacturing facility required a comprehensive air pollution control solution to manage hazardous process emissions.
The project marked a shift from dependence on international suppliers to a fully indigenous, turnkey APC solution.
Challenges
- Dependence on overseas suppliers for hazardous gas abatement systems
- Requirement for a single, reliable partner to deliver end-to-end APC solutions
- Need to effectively capture and treat multiple hazardous pollutants generated during solar PV manufacturing
- Compliance with stringent environmental and workplace safety norms.
Solution
- Delivered a turnkey process exhaust system (PEX) covering engineering, design, supply, erection, and commissioning
- Integrated scrubbers, bag filters, activated carbon towers, and stacks into a unified APC system
- Designed to capture and treat acidic gases, silane dust, VOCs, alkalis, and heavy metals
- Implemented at India’s largest 4 GW solar PV cell and module manufacturing plant
Result
- Achieved emissions well within regulatory limits for hazardous gases such as HCl, HF, and Cl₂.
- Delivered ~80% VOC removal efficiency
- Enabled a safer, cleaner manufacturing environment
- Established a milestone for indigenous APC solutions in India’s solar manufacturing sector
