Power plant EPC & O&M solutions
With a requirement of 40 MW power and a strong focus on efficiency, water conservation, and long-term operational reliability, the project demanded an experienced EPC partner. Thermax was selected to deliver a complete power plant solution along with operations and maintenance support.

Solution
- Thermax executed the project on an EPC basis with a comprehensive and integrated approach.
- Commissioning of two coal-fired CFBC boilers (90 TPH each) designed for multi-fuel firing, including coal, pet coke, RDF (refuse derived fuel), and wood chips
- Installation of a condensing steam turbine with an air cooled condenser to minimise water consumption
- Erection of a 200 TPH coal handling plant with a 1,200-metre conveyor system
- Execution of over 7,500 MT of equipment erection within 8–9 months, including significant local fabrication and extensive E&I cabling
- Installation of a water treatment plant and high-efficiency bag filters meeting stringent emission norms
- Use of bolted and preassembled structures along with automation to accelerate project completion
Result
- Successful commissioning of the power plant within 18.5 months
- Reliable 40 MW power supply supporting continuous cement plant operations
- Reduced water consumption through air-cooled condenser design
