Building an Inclusive Thermax

What DEI Means to Us?
We believe that when diverse minds come together, we spark powerful synergies, and growth becomes collective.

At Thermax, DEI defines how we work, grow, and care for one another. We are creating a workplace where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. From hiring more women on our shop floors to supporting those returning after a career break, we are making meaningful changes every day.

Our approach is built on four simple but powerful pillars: bringing in diverse talent, helping every individual grow, shifting mindsets through learning, and encouraging open conversations. Through leadership development, outreach programmes, and inclusive policies, we are striving to make Thermax a place where differences are not just respected—but celebrated.

Become a Kshatriya

Become a Kshatriya
(Warrior of change)

The cornerstone of Thermax’s people-first culture was sketched by our Founder A. S. Bhathena when he wrote these powerful words in the welcome letter to new recruits:

“While all of us may not be equal in every respect, we endeavour to give equal opportunity to everyone to grow with our organisation. Accidentally, we may have employed Brahmins or Kshatriyas, Vaishyas or Shudras, Muslims or Christians, but we would very much like to see them all turned into Kshatriyas (warriors) in a ceaseless fight against poverty, disease, communalism, despondency and indolence all around us.”

Voices

Gender cannot be the reason for anyone to discontinue work. Balancing responsibilities at home and work is important for working mothers like me. Women should learn to speak up for the issues they face, seek solutions, and make their own decisions. With Thermax, I believe we are in an inclusive and supportive environment, conducive to our growth.

It is beautiful to see women work confidently and make their space in manufacturing. I wish all women to move forward, be confident, stay curious and be willing to learn; they indeed have the potential to win the world!

To women entering manufacturing or any new field, I would like to advise them to start at the right place, with the right values. Find a workplace that believes in you, supports you, and gives you space to grow. For me, Thermax has been that place.

Any prejudices should not stop one from pursuing his/her work. Everything starts with oneself. It’s important to realise that when we grow, the organisation will also grow!
