Nanofiltration is a membrane filtration process that removes divalent, organic molecules, and microorganisms from water.

It operates at lower pressure than reverse osmosis and is ideal for partial demineralisation, softening, and organic removal.

Salient features

  • Retains divalent ions (e.g., Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺, SO₄²⁻) while allowing monovalent ions (e.g., Na⁺, Cl⁻) to pass
  • Removes hardness, organic matter, and pathogens
  • Operates at moderate pressures (4–30 bar)
  • Ideal for water softening, food & beverages, and dye recovery
  • Produces high-quality water with lower salt rejection
