Thermax Atmospheric Deaerator with Immersion Tube (TADIT)
Effectively removes dissolved gases from boiler feedwater for corrosion prevention and extended boiler life
Submit your enquiryThe Thermax atmospheric deaerator with immersion tube (TADIT) is a crucial component of boiler feedwater treatment, designed to remove dissolved oxygen and carbon dioxide from the feedwater before it enters the boiler.
By eliminating these corrosive gases, it prevents internal corrosion in the boiler and steam system, significantly extending boiler lifespan, reducing maintenance costs, and ensuring safe and efficient steam generation. Water naturally contains dissolved oxygen and carbon dioxide, which are highly corrosive to boiler components (tubes, shell) and steam lines, especially at elevated temperatures. An atmospheric deaerator operates by heating the feedwater to its saturation temperature, typically using low-pressure steam (often recovered flash steam or exhaust steam). The immersion tube design ensures intimate mixing of the feedwater with the heating steam, causing the dissolved gases to flash out of the water. These liberated non-condensable gases are then vented to the atmosphere, leaving behind deaerated, high-quality boiler feedwater. This process is vital for protecting capital equipment and maintaining boiler efficiency.
Key Industries / Applications:
- Industries: All industries operating steam boilers, particularly those looking to enhance boiler reliability, reduce chemical consumption, and prolong asset life
- Applications: Pre-treatment of boiler feedwater in conjunction with condensate return systems, fresh makeup water treatment, and any system where oxygen and carbon dioxide removal from water is critical for corrosion prevention
